Orange France Reveals iPhone Plan

There is less than one week until the iPhone will arrive in France, but Orange, the French telecom operator that will offer Apple’s popular smart phone in this country, already revealed few details about tariffs and terms of sale for the iPhone.

According to a Friday report from the French newspaper Les Echos, although Orange’s web site leaked some details related to how the iPhone would be sold in France, the company declined to comment about the service plans.

In Europe, the iPhone plan pricing became a big concern, especially that just a few days ago the German mobile network operator T-Mobile decided to sell the iPhone unlocked and without a contract.

In France, Orange’s price list seems to be pretty competitive, as it includes four plans priced at €49, €59, €79, and €119 respectively, which will get the French users either 2+2 (daytime + nights and weekends), 3 + 3, 5 + 5, or 8 + 8 hours of calls and 50, 100, 150 or 1000 SMS messages, respectively.

All four of Orange’s plans will offer unlimited EDGE data usage and Visual Voicemail, and they will allow the iPhone owners to use the company’s WiFi hotspots for 10 hours a month, or 100 hours a month - for the €119 plan.

The prices Orange revealed on its web site will come with a two-year contract.
