Oprah Winfrey is one of the most successful people in America. She is a television host, a media mogul and a philanthropist. Her highly-popular and widely-acclaimed show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, earned Oprah well-deserved Emmy Awards. Due to her work on the talkshow, it is now currently the highest-rated show in television history. Due to her show and her popularity, Oprah has become a very influential books critic and a successful magazine publisher. Moreover, she has received an Academy Award nomination for her work as an actress. Considered by some the most influential woman in the world, she has been officially declared the richest African-American of the 20th century.
Oprah has been extremely open and honest about her past, including the lowest points of her life, such as being raped when she was 9, and losing a child when she was 14. Her honesty has been most obvious when it comes to her famous struggles with her weight. It seems that recently, the most popular talkshow host has regained a significant amount of the weight she had lost during the past couple of years. Now, Oprah Winfrey said she weighs nearly 200 pounds, gaining 40 pounds just in the last year. Oprah openly discussed her weight issues on “Good Morning America”, where she also talks about the cover of her “O Magazine’s” next issues. Apparently, she convinced the editors to put a picture of her in her current physical shape next to a picture of her skinnier self from 3 years ago. It seems that the weight gain is caused by a thyroid imbalance, which also gave her a fear of physical exercise.
