What exactly is the best way to celebrate your birthday? This event only comes once a year and it is more than a reason enough to be called a special occasion to be spent with friends and family. But a teenage Burger King worker and his friends decided to make the event a memorable one. So he celebrated his birthday by taking a bath in the sink at Burger King.
“It’s my birthday and I’m taking a bath in the sink at Burger King,” the sink-bather tells the camera. “Somebody bring me a beer!” The nearly four-minute video, which was posted online Thursday, shows the man taking the bath in a kitchen sink as other workers look at him or continue working. The video had been removed by Tuesday night.
The completely out of ordinary bath led to the firing of all employees associated with the video including the worker who did the recording and the restaurant’s shift manager.
Burger King spokeswoman Denise Wilson assured costumers at the restaurant, “All employees associated with the video no longer work with the company.”
Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell wasn’t amused either when he saw the video. “It’s a sophomoric, childish stunt,” McDonnel told reporters.
“The biggest problem we had with it was the potential for food equipment contamination.” An inspector was sent to the restaurant to verify if the sink is sterilized, but workers had already cleaned the sink which is used to sterilize large pieces of equipment.
