On Monday, a videotaped fight between the octuplets’ mom and her own mother was posted on a gossip Web site, in which the mother of eight was telling her mother that she had had no choice but to use the embryos, since otherwise she would have been forced to destroy them.

Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets, told her mother in an interview that was videotaped last week and posted by RadarOnline.com, that she would not destroy the embryos, adding that it had been done and she could not change the past.

In her turn, Angela Suleman, now grandmother of fourteen, told her daughter that she should have thought about her other six children before having decided to appeal to in vitro fertilization, which led her to give birth to another eight babies last month.

Moreover, Angela Suleman said that the eggs had been frozen so her daughter had not been obliged to do anything, to which the latter responded that they had been lives that would have either been used or destroyed.

As for the option of donating the embryos to somebody else, Nadya Suleman said that she could not bear the idea of having her children out in the world without her knowing them.

Suleman stated that for each of her pregnancies, six embryos had been implanted, the fertilizations having resulted in four single births and one set of twins.

In her last pregnancy, two of the six embryos split, which gave rise to a total number of eight babies, yet it appears that the fertility treatments that the woman underwent violated national guidelines, which state that no more than two embryos are to be implanted in a healthy woman under 35.
