A former boyfriend of octuplet mother Nadya Suleman, emerged as a potential father for the babies and is willing to submit to a paternity test to see if he's the father.
In an exclusive interview to air Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America," a man, whose identity was not yet revealed, said that 33-year-old Suleman, who gave birth to eight babies in late January, took him to the clinic at which she received in vitro fertilization to donate sperm.
"[I] just really want to know if these are [or] these are not my kids," said the man, who also recalled making donations at home on two occasions.
After dating her for three years, the man, who is in his 20s, said he is willing to help Suleman raise the children even if they prove not to be his. However, Suleman, who already had 6 babies under the age of 7 when she delivered the ocutuplets, refused to disclose the identity of the sperm donor.
"Either which way, you know, know that if she needs it I'll lend a helping hand," he said, adding that he doesn't believe Suleman can rear the children on her own.
During the time the two were together, from 1997 to 1999, the man said Suleman told him she had cancer and couldn't conceive without the help of a doctor.
While the octuplet mom related stories continue to make waves, the newborns are still hospitalized. Suleman's father recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show and questioned the sanity of his daughter, calling her actions "absolutely irresponsible" and pleading for the public to help Suleman and not "punish the babies."
