Obama’s Daughters Get Advice From Bush Twins

In a letter to the Washington Post, President Bush’s twin daughters Jenna and Barbara, 27, gave several words of advice to President Obama’s young daughters Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10 regarding the challenges ahead of them in the next four years.

Pointing out that they were only 7 when their grandfather, George Bush was sworn in, the two talked about the wonder of spending time exploring the great mansion and witnessing balls and events.

Although Jenna and Barbara didn’t live at the White House during their grandfather’s Presidency, they were there for holidays and vacations.

“If you're traveling with your parents over Halloween, don't let it stop you from doing what you would normally do. Dress up in some imaginative, elaborate costume (if you are like us, a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Vampiress) and trick-or-treat down the plane aisle,” the letter said.

From their perspective, it was a magical time and they wouldn’t have missed it for anything. They were able to return to live in the White House at the age of 18 when their father was elected to office, but their article focused on being in that magnificent house as children like Obama’s daughters and soaking it all in. They also talked about raising pets in the White House. (Obama has promised the girls either a Labradoodle or a Portuguese Water Hound.)

“Our sweet puppy Spot was nursed on the lawn of the White House. And then of course, there's Barney, who most recently bit a reporter,” Barbara and Jenna wrote. ”Cherish your animals because sometimes you'll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide.”

Sasha and Malia are already getting comfortable in their new home, so much that according to reports they were paid a surprise White House visit by the Jonas Brothers. They had previously met the boys at the Kids' Inaugural Concert.
