On Sunday, Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama held a rally in Cleveland as a last effort to boost his chances of winning the key state of Ohio. One of the most worth-mentioning scenes was the one in which Obama told the thousands of people gathered at the rally how much Vice President Dick Cheney admires John McCain when all of a sudden it started to rain.
"You notice what happened when I started talking about Dick Cheney?" said Obama.
The Illinois Senator told the crowd gathered at the Cleveland Mall that he has been feeling good lately. He said he owes the good mood he is in to his wife and two daughters, but surely the polls showing that he is most likely to win the presidency played an important part.
Bruce Springsteen entertained the crowd in Cleveland and sang "The Rising" as Obama’s motorcade arrived and as the senator walked on stage. "The Rising" is the song that often plays when Obama rallies, only this time was live.
"Give it up for Bruce Springsteen," Obama told the crowd after Springsteen introduced the senator and his family.
Springsteen denounced the "thoughtless, reckless and morally adrift administration" of President Bush and described American as "a repository for people's hopes" around the world. The singer blamed Bush and Cheney for the Iraq war, Hurricane Katrina and the current economic crisis.
In his speech, Obama referred to McCain, his campaign and why people shouldn’t vote for him. The Senator talked about the future tax plan, his and McCain’s, and other issues on which the candidates differ.
"If you will stand with me and fight by my side, then I promise you this: We will not just win Ohio, we will win this general election, and together, you and I, we're going to change this country, and we will change the world," he said. "A rising is coming."
