Just a few hours after Apple released an important update
for its OS X Leopard operating system, it seems that the company may have fixed
some issues but it has created its own. The update, which was released on
Monday, consisted of 21 patches addressing security flaws, bugs and general
improvement of the operating system.
Apple’s online support board was filled with user reports
about different issues that the update created on their systems. Many of them
state that the system freezes even during the install. Other major issues of
which the users are complaining about are the malfunction of the Bluetooth
connectivity, general system errors (the famous blue screens) and power saving
settings. It seems that even the applications are affected by the update, as
several users had stated that the Safari web browser crashes very often.
Yet, Apple warned users that there are several risks
concerning the update. In a note on its website, the company pointed out that
users might experience “unexpected results” if they relocated applications in
other locations than the defaults. Furthermore, users are warned that modifying
the operating systems through “other means” and through installing 3rd party
application may also lead to errors or failure in deploying the update on their
systems.
The update for the Leopard operating system addresses
several issues of the operating systems and of some of its applications. Apple
states that users should see improvements in iChat, Mail, Safari and Time
Machine. Graphical intensive application as games and Adobe C3 will perform
better, too, as the update tweaks and improves systems which have ATI graphics
cards.
