Except for being an internationally known and acclaimed singer and full-blown entertainer, Madonna is also a brand in itself. The star has given birth to much controversy especially because of her exploration of religious symbolism and sexual themes in her lyrics, attire, videos and live performances.

 

Apart from her successful career as a singer, Madonna has also starred in 22 movies. However, both critics and the public in general have criticized her acting skills and the roles she chose throughout this fleeting career as an actress. Despite these opinions, Madonna did win a Golden Globe Award for a truly masterful impersonation of Eva Peron in Evita, in 1996, the same year she gave birth to her daughter, Lourdes. In 2000, she married director Guy Ritchie, with whom she has a child, Rocco, but woth whom she also adopted David Banda, a boy from Malawi. Madonna and Guy Ritchie got divorced.

 

Recently, it seems that a 30-year-old nude photo of the Queen of Pop will be auctioned off. Sources claim that the photograph may be bought for well over $10,000. This particular picture is just one out of a group of 6 pictured that were taken in 1979 by Lee Friedlander, when Madonna, then a struggling dancer, was only 20. The photos were then published in Playboy in 1985.
