Tuesday night's premier of “Notorious” seems to have exceeded the expectations of those who were close to Biggie, according to several reports. The theatre was full friends and family, including his mother Voletta Wallace, Faith Evans (who he married in 1994), some of his managers and of course Diddy.
“It's a great day for my man Biggie... This movie makes you dance, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry and it makes you respect life and appreciate what you have in front of you,” Diddy, who was one of Biggie’s best friends and the executive producer of the movie, told reporters.
Among the other celebrities present at the event there are Will Smith, Jay Z, Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, hiphop mogul Russell Simmons, Mary J Blige, Angela Bassett.
The film was received in a very good manner by the different celebrities who attended the showing. Jadakiss, who was among the many who went to see the movie, was very pleased by it. He told reporters in the lobby that he had “loved it.”
The setting for the after-party was an ice block in the of the place carved into the word "Notorious," just like there was at one of Big's album-release parties back in the day. In other words it’s atRoseland Ballroom where the real action was on Wednesday night. Hundreds of people packed the venue and danced to the tunes DJs Cassidy and D-Nice were spinning.
The movie “Notorious” delves into the many sides of the award-winning lyricist, from charming young son to violent teenage drug-dealer and eventually, a look into Biggie’s life as one of the greatest MC’s of all time.
Biggie, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down in March 1997 after a long-standing feud between West Coast and East Coast rappers in the US.
