Nokia Presents Its New XpressMusic Mobile Phone

Nokia presented yesterday its new 5630 XpressMusic mobile phone, which was designed to allow users access all of the company’s gaming, music and messaging services. It features the Symbian OS S60, which means that users will be able to add new apps, utilize widgets for Internet-based services and receive e-mails.

The 5630 XpressMusic is equipped with GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and dual-band UMTS/HSDPA (900/2100MHz) support, and it also features 802.11b/g WiFi to boost the connections even more. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, which also supports video recording.

As expected from its name, the mobile phone will be compatible with Nokia’s Comes With Music service. Users will be able to access millions of tunes from all the major record labels, listen to FM radio and even Internet radio stations. One of its fun features is the “say and play” option that finds and plays any track or artist from the archives requested by voice. The built-in music player was designed with its dedicated control keys, a 4 GB microSD card that can store as many as 3000 songs and also a 3.5 mm AV jack.

Games will be available through the company’s N-Gage service.

It is scheduled for release in the year’s second quarter estimated retail price of 199 EUR (US $258), and will be released in China, Eurasia, Europe, India, Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia Pacific, and Sub-Saharan Africa. At this point there are no details about Nokia’s plans to release the device on the US market.
