All the rumors about a possible Emmy’s appearance of the troubled
pop diva Britney Spears have proved to be just…rumors.
USmagazine.com reported by quoting an Emmy Awards insider
that Fox is negotiating with the pop diva to make an appearance on Sunday’s
telecast.
The idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMAs,”
the source reportedly said. “She’s weighing the offer.”
Last Sunday Britney Spears tried a comeback by singing her
latest tune, “Gimme Me More” at MTV’s VMA. But dressed in sequined black
underpants and bra, uncomfortable-looking black boots, somewhat disheveled, in
pretty good physical shape, she seemed to have difficulties following her own
backing track.
All in all, her appearance was heavily criticized and even
some of the most important names in showbiz are wondering if Britney Spears will
manage to be again the famous star she was.
However since Sunday’s performance there are lots and lots of
explanations flying around. According to the New York Times Spears was forced by
her entertainment lawyer, Gary Stiffelman, to sing at VMAs, because he figured she
could benefit from MTV exposure.
Other sources, as the celebrity blogger Perez Hilton,
claimed that Spears has taken antidepressants just before she went on stage.
Still if Britney Spears wants to apologize over her last
performance this won’t happen at Emmy Awards. A spokeswoman for Jive, Spears’
label confirmed for the same USmagazine.com that she has no plans to appear on
the Emmys.
It remains to be seen if or when she will explain what
really happened at VMAs. Or just maybe she will choose to forget all about it.
