No Charges for Kid Rock after VMA Fight with Tommy Lee

Kid Rock no longer faces charges for the assault on Tommy Lee that took place at the MTV Video Music Awards show on Sept. 9.

Chief Deputy District attorney Ron Bloxham told “Extra” Monday that “The Clark County District Attorney's Office will not pursue a battery charge,” regarding the now infamous scuffle between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee at the VMAs last month.

“It should be noted that Tommy Lee has requested that there be no prosecution relating to the incident and there were no injuries to either person,” Bloxham added.

Kid Rock, 36, real name Robert James Ritchie, was cited by Las Vegas authorities after he got into a fight with Tommy Lee, 45, real name Thomas Lee Bass, at the Palms Casino Resort.

The two musicians were in the audience during the MTV show last month when the incident occurred; it was not caught on camera. Tommy Lee allegedly pestered Kid Rock about Pamela Anderson, whom both men have been married to. The Playboy star was also present.

In his defense, Rock later told KROQ-FM’s “Kevin and Bean Show” that he and Lee have a long history of not getting along.

“It's been going on for five years. I did what any man would do, any man across the country, across the world would do…It kills me just to be associated with, just to have my name in a sentence with him, it honestly destroys me.”

In a statement on his website, Lee also commented on the incident: “I get a tap on the shoulder from Kid Pebble...I stand up and embrace him with a semihug and say, 'Hey dude...What up?' He punches me in the face...well if ya wanna call it that!?...more like a bitch slap!...Wuss!”

Rock was involved in another incident this month, on Oct. 21. This time he joined by his entourage, at the Waffle House in DeKalb County, Georgia. DeKalb County police said that a male customer exchanged words with one of Kid’s female friends. The scandal thus ensued, allegedly leaving the man with cuts and bruises.

Rock posted $1,000 bail and was released that same afternoon but he’s still facing misdemeanor battery charges.
