Nintendo DSi will be arriving in early April to Europe and the United States, as confirmed by the console maker. The only difference is that Europe will see it two days earlier, on April 3rd, leaving an entire weekend of shopping at the disposal of console enthusiasts, while the US shoppers won’t see it until April 5th.
There is also a difference between the consoles arriving on the two continents, in the sense that Europeans will get to choose between black and white versions, while US users will get to choose between blue and black versions, which will initially be available upon launch.
In case you were wondering what Nintendo DSi is, this is the third version of the handheld system, and comes with several upgrades that are likely to make it even more appealing than its predecessors.
The new elements are two cameras capable of detecting facial features and players’ movements, options for sound and picture editing, built-in SD card slot, downloadable Nintendo DSiWare software for customization (hundreds of games will be available for download).
The new DSi is thinner than the Nintendo DS Lite by 12 percent, and it comes with two larger screens, of 3.25’’, the console maker said. Nintendo of America said additional features of the DSi will be revealed upon launch. It has been confirmed that Nintendo DSi will cost $169.99 in the United States.
Console fans should be glad to know this, and should be ready to make an investment that seems very rewarding.
