Nicolette Sheridan will no longer be part of the comedy series “Desperate Housewives.”
An ABC representative confirmed the news but did not give any further details about the moment or the circumstances in which Sheridan’s character will disappear.
According to a spokeswoman for the actress, she made a very short announcement about her leaving the series but has not revealed her reasons. The woman told People magazine that Sheridan had a great time on the show but now is looking forward to new projects.
Apparently Sheridan’s character, Edie Britt, will make a memorable good-bye role during her last episode. According to an E! online columnist, Britt will be involved in a car accident plotted by her husband, Dave Williams, that will kill her off the show.
As unbelievable as it may seem, this would not be the first time the actress leaves the series. The first time happened last season, as she was driven out of Wisteria Lane by the other housewives. She returned as the show jumped five years forward, as in 2008.
Obviously Sheridan goes through a time of soul-searching because this is the only thing that may explain all the drastic changes in her life. In August Nicolette reportedly put an end to her engagement to singer Michael Bolton as well.
Nicolette Sheridan was born on the 21st of November 1963 in Rustington, West Sussex, England from an actress mother and a never identified father. She became a successful actress who was nominated for a Golden Globe. She appeared in soap operas (the most important was "Knots Landing" in the 1990s) after which she joined the cast for television series of “Desperate Housewives” in 2004.
