One week from now, the "Simple Life" star, who is believed to be "definitely pregnant," will be facing a judge and a possible jail sentence for her DUI arrest last year.

According to reports, Nicole Richie’s fate is worse than Paris Hilton’s, who just finished serving her sentence for violating the terms of her probation in a drunken driving case. If convicted, Richie is facing a minimum of 5 days in jail.

Richie recently told David Letterman that she's hoping she won't follow her friend Paris to the slammer.

"I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, of course," she said on CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" last month. "I'm scared also, but I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I've done."

However, the media focus seems to be on whether the Hollywood socialite is pregnant and getting married to her boyfriend, Joel Madden, Good Charlotte lead singer, whom she’s been dating for over six months.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com claimed they have confirmation the tiny starlet is going to have a baby, as does In Touch Weekly magazine.

"Nicole didn’t want to tell anyone until she was past three months," a "pal" reportedly told In Touch. "She really kept the news from everyone."

Apparently, the baby is due some time in January.

A rep for Richie told The ShowBuzz in an email on Tuesday that "we have nothing to report."
