A man wandering around Nicolas Cage’s house naked has been arrested and could spend several years in jail.
Robert Dennis Furo, 45, was walking around actor Nicolas Cage’s house in the early hours of Tuesday morning, naked except for a jacket belonging to Cage. The actor called the police and while waiting for the officers to arrive, escorted the intruder outside.
The Associated Press reports that Furo, who is a tailor, was charged with residential burglary Tuesday. He pleaded not guilty to the felony court in Orange County Superior Court, district attorney's spokeswoman Farrah Emami said.
He remains jailed on $50,000 bail and faces up to six years in state prison if convicted, Emami said.
The man was apparently not violent, as he let himself be shown out of Cage’s house, by the actor himself,” without struggle,” as the AP reports police Lt. Craig Fox said.
Furo is to return to court Oct. 10 for a preliminary hearing.
Cage, 43, is married to Korean-American Alice Kim, formerly a waitress. They have a son, 2-year-old Kal-El (the same as the birth name of Superman in the DC Comics). He has an older son from a previous relationship.
He was previously married to Patricia Arquette and Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Cage is a self-proclaimed Elvis fanatic. He is also a self-proclaimed fan of comics.
The actor won an Academy Award for best actor in 1995, for his role in “Leaving Las Vegas.” He was nominated once more for his work in the 2002 Spike Jonze – directed “Adaptation.”
Cage’s recent film credits include “World Trade Center,” “Ghost Rider,” “Grindhouse,” and “Next.”
He next appears on the big screen in “National Treasure: Book of Secrets,” the sequel to the 2004 film National Treasure. His co-stars are Diane Kruger, Jon Voight, and Helen Mirren. The film is scheduled for release in December.
