Nick Nolte has become father for the second time, his spokesman announced on Tuesday. "The baby girl, who has yet to be named, weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces at birth. Both mother and daughter are doing well," the spokesman said.

The mother is Nolte's longtime girlfriend, Clytie Lane, 38. The baby was born last Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Nolte became famous after his performance in Rich Man, Poor Man, the 1976 television miniseries. Since them Nolte a two-time Oscar nominee, has starred in dozens of major films, including hits such as Affliction, Prince of Tides, 48 Hours, Jefferson in Paris and Down and Out in Beverly Hills.   

Nolte has a 21 year old son, Brawley Nolte, from his marriage with Rebecca Linger.  Currently Nolte is filming for the comedy Tropic of Thunder.
