Three-time Academy Award winner
Jack Nicholson announced his endorsement for Democratic candidate, Hillary
Rodham Clinton, in a very original and successful manner. Nicholson released a
video on You Tube featuring scenes from some of his most famous movies. The
video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times.
The video is meant to help Clinton get into state primaries Tuesday in Texas and Ohio.
The video contains excerpts from Batman, The Shining, Chinatown
and A Few Good men.
Other celebrities endorsing Clinton are director
Steven Spielberg, actress-singer Barbra Streisand and actress Eva
Longoria-Parker.
On the other side, Obama enjoys
the support of celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Robert De
Niro. Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons is
has recently announced his endorsement for Obama.
A scene in the clip feature a
well-known line of the Joker, the part Nicholson played in the 1989 Batman: “Hubba
hubba hubba, money, money money, who do you trust?”
Using a line from the 1980 horror
movie “The Shining,” he suggests “things could be a whole lot better.”
“There is nothing on this earth
sexier, believe me gentlemen, than a woman you have to salute in the
morning," Nicholson says in a clip from the 1992 military drama "A
Few Good Men.”
During an interview with MTV,
Jack Nicholson was asked why he decided to publicly endorse Hilary now. “Well
I'm a longtime Clintonite. I guess that's no secret,” Nicholson answered.
Jack Nicholson was helped by
director Rob Reiner to do the clip entitled ‘Jack and Hill.” His spokesman
Yusuf K. Robb said “They decided to do this as something on their own to assist
her campaign,” the AP reports.
Obama supporters responded with a
video featuring other clips from Nicholson’s movies, in which he swears and
throws dishes. “Sorry Jack. Vote Obama,” the video concludes.
