Miley Cyrus, the star of Disney's “Hannah Montana” is to return in an untitled film that is being made especially for her by author Nicholas Sparks, Variety reports. He also wrote “The Notebook,” "A Walk to Remember" and "Message in a Bottle," which were all previously turned into successful films.
Sparks is currently writing an untitled novel and simultaneously working on a screenplay adaptation for the film. Moreover, adaptation of his book "Nights in Rodanthe," starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, opens next week. "Dear John," another book-turned-movie is expected to go into production soon.
It appears that this movie project, which plot is kept under wraps, is aimed to help Miley in her transition to an older role. The film will be produced by Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot from Disney-based Offspring Entertainment, and Miley's mother, Tish Cyrus, will be the executive producer.
Gibgot said the project came about after Disney executive, Jason Reed, met with the young actress and she mentioned Mandy Moore’s "A Walk to Remember" as an example of what she hoped for.
Rumor has it that this is a novel about family and romance. The "Hannah Montana" star is reportedly excited about the plot along with her whole family.
A release date for the film has not been programmed, but Sparks said the book would be published in fall 2009. Regarding Cyrus acting experience, it appears that she can handle it pretty good, as Cyrus' has "Hannah Montana the Movie" set for release next summer as well.
