The man who managed to cause a general panic through his
video posted on YouTube, where he claimed to have poisoned a large number of
baby food bottles, was arrested last week, ending the search efforts of the
authorities.
In the video posted on the popular Web site on April 20,
Anton Dunn, who New York City resident, said he wanted to kill as many black
and Hispanic children as possible putting poison in the Gerber baby food
bottles and he also expressed his firm belief that he will not get caught.
The Food and Drug Administration assisted the baby food
producer in an extremely careful search and found nothing wrong with the
products. Still, Anton Dunn is charged with falsely claiming to have meddled
with a consumer product and also with sending threats in interstate commerce.
At this point it is uncertain whether the accusations will
materialize only into some heavy fines or if the man will have to spend some
time behind bars.
Several controversial issues concerning Mr. Dunn are also related
to another two of his many video clips posted on the Web, in which he claims to
have purposely infected close to 1,500 women with the AIDS virus and also to
have killed two men.
Even though many consider his posts just sad effort to step
up into the public’s eye and get his 15 minutes of fame, the authorities feel
that it is better to be safe than sorry and will thoroughly investigate every
one of his claims in order to make sure that if released, he does not pose a
threat to anyone.
