This weekend Paramount
unveiled four more posters from J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” at the official
Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas.
The first four posters were given out at Comic Con.
TrekMovie.com
was there and already posted them on the Internet. The new posters show Scotty
(Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho), Chekov (Anton Yelchin) and Bones (Karl Urban),
who represent the rest of the Star Trek crew for the first time.
“Star Trek” is directed by J.J. Abrams, who also directed and
produced some episodes of “Lost” and “Mission: Impossible III,” among other things. His debut film “Mission: Impossible III”
is the most expensive film ever made by a director at his debut.
The “Star
Trek” script was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (“The Island,”
“Mission: Impossible III,”
“Transformers”).
The film is the 11th movie of the Star Trek series. The film opens on May 8, 2009.
The movie introduces the early days of James T. Kirk and his
fellow USS Enterprise crew members.
Paramount Pictures has produced ten Star Trek feature films
by now, the eleventh being in post production at the moment. The first six
films continue the adventures of the “The
Original Series” cast, the seventh was an amalgam of "The Original
Series" and "Next Generation" casts, and the next three were
exclusively “Next Generation's”
cast. U.S.A. and U.K. releases
were no longer numbered after the sixth one. Europeans however continued doing
so and therefore we now have the eleventh film.
