Few days ago it was reported that Apples officials are
negotiating with China Mobile the launch of iPhone.
China Mobile or CMCC, represents the largest mobile phone
operator from China,
as well the largest mobile phone operator in the world if ranked by the number
of subscribers, which is about 349.66 million. China Mobile is owned by the
People’s Republic of China
government and it has more than 119,000 employees.
But today a Chinese newspaper the Southern Daily reported
that the two companies were unable to reach an agreement.
Quoting unnamed sources, the Southern Daily said the talks
were abandoned because the differences the companies have over revenue sharing.
But Bloomberg said China Mobile denied the newspaper report
and it is still in discussions with Apple.
Earlier this month, China Unicom, the second largest Chinese
mobile carrier, said that they would be open to talks with Apple, but they are
not in any discussions with Apple.
Meanwhile, a Hamburg court
adjourned until Monday a hearing on Deutsche Telekom's appeal of a temporary
injunction won earlier this month in Germany by Vodafone.
Apple has sold so far 1,29 million iPhone until September 29
and the company intends to launch the device in Asia
sometimes in 2008.
