New Rumors About GPhone

After one year since it first appeared, the rumor about the allegedly mobile phone branded by Google, is making new rounds on the Web.
It seems like all has started because of an unclear report from a press conference held on Friday by Eric Schmidt and Google co-founders, Sergey Brin and Larry Page.

Apparently, The Hollywood Reporter's Dan Cox wrote in an article that the three officials "used the opportunity to talk about the inroads the company is making with its own branded mobile phone as a replacement for the iPhone".

TehCrunch has picked up the information and they added that according to an anonymous source the GPhone could be build be a company called Ammunition Design Group, which has designed devices for Dell and HP.

However, apparently the Google officials were talking about the mobile phones powered by Android, so don’t get too excited about a possible Gphone.

Instead let’s see when the first devices based on Android will be released on the market. Initially, Google said it hopes to release the Android phones in the second half of 2008 and let’s hope that this autumn we will have a least one such mobile device.
