On Wednesday, Avie Products revealed that they would be releasing a new product aimed at fighting against breast cancer, called „Cue.”

Scheduled to be launched in the United States this month, October being the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, „Cue” is an electronic waterproof device designed to remind women to regularly examine their breasts, as a means to early detect anything that might be wrong and consequently present themselves to the doctor for a thorough consultation.

The unique device has been manufactured so as to be used in the shower and can help women perform breast self-exams at the most appropriate time within their menstrual cycles. Since breasts are highly sensitive before and during women’s periods and hormone levels are also at a peak at that time, “Cue” announces its users to check their breasts for unusual swelling or lumps exactly seven days after the period begins. Moreover, for those who have already reached menopause, the electronic device can be set to remind of the self-exam on a monthly basis.

“Cue” determines the date when it should tell women about checking their breasts by displaying questions concerning their menstrual cycles, to which they have to answer with “yes” or “no.”

Other features of the device include a doctor’s appointments reminder, a clock display, time tracker and also a shower timer for hair removal cremes.

In addition, „Cue” can be used by up to four women who share the same bathroom, being able to display the name of the one who should perform the self-exam along with the reminder.
