Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton announced the happy news:
the actress is pregnant the second time, giving their three-year old son, Billy
Raymond a brother or sister.
The couple met during the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes,
where Burton
was director and Carter was playing the role of Ari. They further worked
together in "Big Fish," "Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory," the animated "Corpse Bride" and the upcoming
"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," co-starring Johnny
Depp.
Carter’s spokeswoman officially announced today: "Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are
very happy to be expecting their second child later this year."
Burton
was very excited when his girlfriend expressed her desire to have another
child: “We've got to get on with it!” The 48-year old film director
enthusiastically talked about the exquisite experience of being a father after
his first son was born: "It's like
an explosion of heart, love, everything - and it's extraordinary.
"It's changed everything. Everybody told me it would,
and, of course, I didn't really listen, and there's no real way of describing
it."
Tim Burton assisted in the delivery room and he makes
innovative comparisons regarding the experience of having a baby: "It was
like my own private Alien movie. I'll tell you, it was the weirdest thing I've
ever seen. It was amazing."
The proud mother can be seen in theaters starring the evil
witch Bellatrix Lestrange in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," the 5th
sequel adapted from J.K. Rowling's masterpiece.
