Hudson Entertainment has announced that it will continue to develop its Bomberman Land series with a brand new version to be launched in January 2008. The game is to be titled Bomberman Land Touch! 2 and will only work on Nintendo DS at first. Currently, Bomberman Land Touch! came out only for the Nintendo DS, but Hudson announced the game will also ported to run on Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PSP soon, with mini-series to be released in January.
"Gamers are going to be blown away by the sheer amount of content they get in the Bomberman Land series," said John Greiner President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "Each version of the perspective Bomberman Land title is different, with unique mini-games, Story Mode, and features."
Bomberman Land Touch! 2 for the DS will feature 40 unique mini-games in addition to cart-sharing multiplayer functionality. Hudson says each port of Bomberman Land Touch! will bring three game modes into one on their respective platforms with a quest- and puzzling story mode, and mini-game modes for each, with 50 different games on Wii and PSP, compared with 40 for the DS sequel.
The company announced that the games will feature a multiplayer battle pack mode with the DS and PSP ports supporting single cart/UMD play to share the multiplayer game with others. Published by Hudson and distributed in North America by Konami Entertainment, all three versions are planned to release, as mentioned above, in January 2008.
Hudson has also showcased its latest game, the upcoming Deca Sporta for the Nintendo Wii, at TGS '07. The game is to feature soccer, archery, badminton, snowboarding, basketball and curling, among many other sports.
Bomberman Land Touch! won IGN's Best Offline Multiplayer Game Award for the Nintendo DS in 2006.
Also, Hudson Entertainment designed especially for Xbox LIVE Arcade “Bomberman Live”, released in July. Bomberman Live! is a game in which the players
guide their unique Bomberman around a grid-like arena, avoiding opponents and
their bombs while attempting to bomb the competition. The game offers a multiplayer mode, with eight arenas including
Lost World, where players can sink in puddles of quicksand, and Ghost Town,
where players can fall into trap doors.
Just days ago, Hudson Soft announced that
Turbo CD and Super CD game software will be available for download via
the Virtual Console feature on Nintendo's Wii. The classic games
will be available for download beginning in October of this year in
Japan and Hudson Soft plans to extend the service North America, Europe
and Australia.
