In case you’ve missed hearing about this high profile couple, they’re back again in the spotlight, what with Brad’s recent jury duty and new rumors about an upcoming fourth adoption.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are proud parents of four beautiful children, three adopted, one biological. Cambodian-born Maddox was first, adopted in 2002, before Ange and Brad even became a couple. Then came little Zahara Marley, born in Ethiopia, whom Angelina adopted with the full support of her new partner, Brad, in 2005.
In early 2006, Brad adopted the little ones and they received the surname Jolie-Pitt. In may that same year, Angelina gave birth to her and Brad’s biological daughter, named Shiloh Nouvel.
The latest addition to the brood was three-year-old Pax Thien, whom the couple adopted in March 2007 from a Vietnamese orphanage. They have both talked about their joy in being parents and about having a “rainbow family.”
Angelina has talked about taking a break from movies for a while so that she can focus on the children and even about both her and Brad calling it quits completely somewhere along the line, as far as Hollywood and movies are concerned.
The new talk in town is that the Hollywood couple is now preparing to adopt a fourth child. The Daily Mail reported Tuesday that sources close to Angie and Brad are aware of plans to adopt a girl from Africa.
The magazine quotes its sources as saying: “Brad and Angie have made no secret of the fact that they are keen to extend their rainbow family. They hope that another adoption will shore up their relationship as well as helping Zahara, the Ethiopian girl they adopted two years ago, feel more connected to the rest of the family.”
The two actors obviously give a lot of thought to the balance in their family. Angelina especially has talked in interviews about their preoccupation that neither child feels left out or uneasy.
Adopting a little girl from Ethiopia would bring comfort to Zahara, the same way Pax Thien was adopted from south east Asia so that Maddox could relate to him. Earlier this year, the mother of four confessed that she was worried little blond blue-eyed Shiloh, looking so much like mommy and daddy, would confuse the other children.
The Daily Mail’s source says: “Angie in particular feels very strongly that while Shiloh will grow up seeing her family resemblance between herself and her natural parents, and Maddox and Pax will feel a connection between their birthplaces, Zahara has no such close-knit bond.”
