Nero came up with a new software technology that will allow
the easy creation and distribution of content on any device. This implied a
collaboration with TiVo for the Nero LiquidTV / TiVo PC, which should meet the
demands of consumers who now feed on digital content.
LiquidTV / TiVo PC promises to offer consumers the same TV experience
on their PCs and portable devices, practically taking TiVo content on the road.
As Udo Eberlein, CEO of Nero AG, said in a statement, the new software frees
consumers, allowing them to do more with the content they already have.
Considering there 31.6 million laptops and the 1.15 billion
mobile phones sold worldwide in 2007, with North America and Europe accounting
for 30 percent of the sales, it seems that Nero’s efforts come as a natural
response to the demand today.
Consumers are usually dealing with an increasing number of
digital files that they may only use on certain devices, and that makes it even
harder when they want to have that content on the go. Nero LiquidTV / TiVo PC
promises to solve that problem, and give customers the possibility of enjoying
a barrier-free environment for their multitude of devices.
In addition to LiquidTV / TiVo PC, Nero also unveiled Nero
Move it, which allows consumers to convert music, videos and photos from one
file format to another for use on a broad range of devices, and Nero 9, which
offers the latest technology to create, edit, rip, copy, backup, convert and
share music, videos and photos within the connected digital home, on online
communities or portable devices.
