The Australian actress Naomi Watts has given birth to a baby
in Los Angeles.
Alexander Pete Schreiber was born Wednesday and weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, Watts' publicist, Robin Baum said for Reuters. He is the
first child of the Australian actress and her boyfriend, actor Liev Schreiber.
"The
parents are ecstatic, and both Mom and baby are doing great," Baum added.
Schreiber and Watts co-starred in last year's
"The Painted Veil”, but she is known also for her roles in "King
Kong," "Mulholland Dr.",
"The Ring" and its sequel.
Watts’s next movie is “Eastern
Promises”, costarring Viggo Mortensen and due out September 14, while her boy
friend will appear in the comedy “The Ten”, which is set for release on August
3.
Schreiber has starred in remakes of The Manchurian Candidate
and The Omen, as well as Scream 2 and Kate & Leopold. He won a Tony in 2005
for his performance in Glengarry Glen Ross.
He also was nominated for a Tony -- Best Performance by a
Leading Actor in a Play for his role in Broadway performance in Talk Radio.
In 2000 Schreiber was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden
Globe for his role as a young Orson Wells in the HBO movie RKO 281.
