Supermodel Naomi Campbell has reached a settlement with a former maid who had accused her of having hit her and also called her names.
The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, but according to one of Campbell’s lawyers, both parties were pleased with the way the lawsuit had ended.
Gaby Gibson, who worked for Campbell from November 2005 through January 2006, had claimed in court documents that were filed in Manhattan that the model had also threatened to accuse her of theft after she couldn’t find a pair of designer jeans.
Naomi Campbell, 38, made her first public appearance at the age of 7, when she was featured in a music video for Bob Marley’s song „Is This Love?.”
Her modeling career began at the age of 15 and she started off as a catwalk model, still soon after she was hired for several high-profile events , including advertising campaigns for Lee Jeans and Olympus Corporation, which helped her make her mark.
At that same age, in April 1986, Campbell appeared on the cover of Elle magazine, while over the years, she was featured on more than 500 magazine covers.
The British supermodel has quite a history of physically and verbally abusing other people, which started in 2000, when she pleaded guilty in a Toronto court to a 1998 assault on Georgina Galanis, who was her assistant at that time.
In March 2005, Campbell allegedly slapped assistant Amanda Brack and beat her around the head with a BlackBerry personal organizer.
