MySpace Is Getting Ready For Its Redesign

Starting next week, MySpace, the biggest social-networking site and the fifth most trafficked in the US, will start to unveils its new design.

The result of more than six months of efforts, the new design is not just a new “skin”, but it aims also to reorganize the information flow on MySpace.

For example MySpace will make changes to its navigation and the new design aims also to offer better search functionality.

MySpace TV player will undergo also a major change, the goal being to facilitate the sharing and embedding for the users.

In addition the profile editing page will go through some changes, imposed by the growing number of users and their various interests. According to than screenshots released so far, the editing tools has underwent through a major overhaul and now they are easier to use.

The Home Page will be another area that will suffer a major reorganization, as MySpace decided to highlight the various sections and services added in the past years.

But the new design has also another purpose, namely to allow MySpace to increase the advertising space. MySpace.com has an exclusive advertising deal with the web search giant Google. 

MySpace has announced that the rollout of the new design will start  next Wednesday with the Home Page. During Thursday, the rest of the pages and elements will be released.  MySpace was created in 2002 and bought by News Corporation in 2005 for $580 million.
