The voice of Shrek’s hilarious Donkey, Eddie Murphy married his fiancée Tracey Edmonds on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora, in French Polynesia. The couple decided to have a private ceremony attended only by their families’ members and very close friends, E!Online reported.
Edmonds, 40, who was previously married to singer Kenneth Edmonds (also known as Babyface) and the mother of two sons walked down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You” in a wedding dress especially made for her by Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, People.com reported.
Murphy, 46, is the father of four children from his 13-year marriage with Nicole Mitchell Murphy, which ended in divorce in 2005 and he also has a daughter with Spice Girls’ singer Melanie Brown.
The couple has been engaged since July 2007, almost one year after they met. Murphy began dating with Edmonds while Brown was pregnant with their daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Murphy admitted he was the father of the girl in August, after a paternity suit, which Brown initiated.
After the ceremony, the bridesmaids went home with gold and diamond earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills handed by Edmonds as a thank you, while Murphy gifted his groomsmen stellar watches from D. Atlantis.
Edmonds is not a stranger to movie field as she produced films as “Soul Food”, “Josie and the Pussycats” and “Good Luck Chuck.” It seems they will have a lot to share, not only a family together, but also the passion for the movie field
