Multi-Gadgety Apple

Not only has Apple been breaking sale records left and right and releasing one revolutionary, jaw-dropping product after another – now it has help from other popular companies! Google decided to design and release a Google Earth application, custom made for the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

The application was modified to provide the best results in the provided conditions – the smaller screen, for instance. Of the available features you have “My Location”, which is incredibly fast at taking you from whatever you are browsing to your exact geographical location. Moreover, Google blended Panoramio and Wikipedia into the application, giving you not only geographical locations, but also a number of photos and informational articles.

Artists have also been taking advantage of iTunes to promote their image and music. Two such artists are Pink and the band Snow Patrol. Pink worked with iTunes and launched a pretty inane application – you can listen to her music, see pictures of her, read her bio and get news on her. In other words, the application doesn’t provide anything the Internet didn’t. The app, called “P!nk”, has one good part – you can listen to previews of songs from her upcoming album “Funhouse” without the trouble of going to iTunes first, as the tracks stream on your phone thanks to the app.

Snow Patrol’s application – called “Snow Patrol” – lets you read lyrics to their songs by unfolding origami stars with the use of the multi-touch screen. Interesting at first, it can get really old, really fast. Other stars are said to hold promotional videos, but it’s tedious, to say the least, to unfold 20 or more origami stars to find them. The stars are linked to the title of their new album “A Hundred Million Suns.”

LogMeIn software has also designed a little something for the iPhone or iPod Touch, and this little something is far more useful than Pink’s biography on you phone. Basically, LogMeIn makes your iPhone or iPod a remote control for a Mac or PC that is connected to the phone or iPod via Web.
