Motorola has announced that it will release three new handsets during this year. The three are very dissimilar, as they aim to different target users. While analysts have somewhat criticized the design of these mobile devices, they also stated that the handsets should meet their users’ expectations.
Among these three devices, one caught people’s interest more than the other two did. The eco-friendly Motorola Renew W233 has a candybar shape and is painted in bright yellow. However, what is interesting about it is that the handset’s case is made from 100% recyclable plastic.
Moreover, Motorola stated that they used recycled material from plastic bottles to manufacture the phone and that they lowered manufacturing costs by about 20%. Another interesting rather than appealing feature is that even the package is entirely made from recycled paper, so don’t expect an Apple-style polished box.
Motorola has an interesting approach in the phone market with its shockproof device, the Tundra VA76a, another model from the company’s new handsets line-up. The Tundra complies with 810F US Military Standards. This means that the phone resists to shocks, vibrations, humidity, dust and temperature variance.
The MOTOSURF A3100 is more conventional than the other two. Sporting a 2.8 inches touchscreen, this device is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and it is oriented to business users, as it supports corporate email protocols and 3G data transfer speed. Navigation through the menus is also simplified by a custom interface and a trackball.
