Miss Teen Louisiana Stripped Of Her Tiara After Drug Bust

More and more beauty queens are starting to get a bad reputation lately. Over the past several years, there was Miss Nevada Katie Rees, who was caught drinking underage, using cocaine, and performing various indecent acts in public with other female contestants.

There was Miss Arizona contestant Kumari Fulbright, who teamed up with an ex-boyfriend, his brother, and a third man, to kidnap and torture another ex-boyfriend. She too was also guilty of taking a really horrible booking photo.

Miss New Jersey, aka Amy Polumbo was blackmailed with some not-very-racy photos that had been on her Facebook page. And Miss Puerto Rico, Ingrid Marie Rivera, was poisoned with pepper spray a year ago. And that is to say nothing of the embarrassing stumbles, excessive partying, and issues with Donald Trump that have plagued several beauty pageant constants.

And now, Miss Teen Louisiana Lindsey Evans lost her title 11 days early after being arrested over the weekend for leaving a Bossier City restaurant without paying the bill and for carrying marijuana, People.com reported.

Evans and three of her friends bailed on a $46.07 bill but the former beauty queen accidentally left her purse at the restaurant. A spokesman for Bossier City said police were summoned to a Posados Cafe restaurant Saturday night after the group of four had left without paying. When they went back to retrieve Evans' purse, they were greeted by cops, who also found pot Evans' purse.

"One of the officers recognized Evans from her identification, and they were subsequently arrested," police spokesman Mark Natale told TODAYshow.com

Evans and the other young women, Jordan James, 18, Jennifer Martin, 22, and Morgan Goleman, 18, were booked on charges of theft and possession of marijuana. Martin and James were also booked for possession of drug paraphernalia. Early on Sunday, they were released on bail. A police spokesperson said they are expected to be arraigned in Bossier District Court in January.

According to Paula Miles, president of the pageant's production company, RPM Productions Inc., the 18-year-old was stripped of her title and will have to return her sash and crown, but won't have to pay back any other prizes or cash equivalents.

"Lindsey Evans has been part of an organization that believes in opportunities when earned and consequences when warranted. Due to recent circumstances, Lindsey has been relieved of her duties as Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2008 effective immediately," Miles said in a statement. "RPM Productions, Inc. wishes Lindsey success in her future endeavors."

"I am only human," Evans told TMZ.com following the incident. The teen told the site she paid her portion of the restaurant bill with a "nice, crisp 20."
