The 21 year old actress who starred in the television hit “The OC”, Mischa Barton was rushed to a LA hospital on Sunday, after attending a Memorial Day barbeque where complained of feeling extremely ill.

Barton was rushed to hospital after she had a bad reaction with the prescription medication she had been taking after consuming a few cocktails. She was partying at a star-studded Memorial Day barbeque in Los Angeles, with celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie. Mischa Barton reportedly became non-responsive and was taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital hospital.

Barton reportedly picked up bronchitis during her busy schedule of recent weeks. She was promoting her role in the upcoming movie "St. Trinian's" last week at the Cannes Film Festival in France, where photos of her holding a hand-rolled cigarette led to much what-is-she-smoking speculation.

Her publicist told on Monday reporters that she was "resting comfortably" with family at home and that she was “feeling much better.”

For three seasons, Barton starred on Fox's "The OC" as Marissa Cooper, a teen prone to overindulging and passing out in exotic locations like Tijuana and her own driveway.
