The actress was taken to a Los Angeles hospital on Sunday evening after reportedly having a bad reaction to the medicine she was on.

While chilling at a friend’s barbeque party, the former “OC” star began to feel ill. Following her trip to Cannes where she attended the Cannes Film Festival, London and Paris in the last couple of weeks, the actress has been suffering from bronchitis and was taking antibiotics which apparently reacted adversely with the cocktails she had.

During the evening while partying with gal pals Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton, she complained of feeling ill and became "unresponsive.''

She was kept at the hospital for about five hours before they let her go.

TMZ.com reported the 21-year-old actress’ publicist said she was “resting comfortably,” after she was instructed to rest.

A representative for Barton is quoted as saying she is with family and "feeling much better."
