The former O.C. actress will star alongside Rumer Willis, Bruce Willis’ daughter and Willis himself in the dark comedy "The Sophomore."
In the movie, Barton will reportedly play the most popular girl in a Catholic high school, who will persuade sophomore reporter to investigate the theft of SAT exams. However, the situation gets complicated after school officials prove to be involved.
Apparently, Bruce Willis will play a sadistic war veteran AND the school's principal. Meanwhile, the female Willis will take on the role of "school troublemaker."
Oscar-winning actor Billy Bob Thornton, who has already worked with Willis in three films, is also said to be associated with the project.
The movie is said to be a "teenage take on ‘Chinatown’." The film will be directed by Brett Simon through Yari Film Group. Shooting for the project is set to begin in August.
Rumer Willis made her movie debut when she was only five, starring alongside her mother, actress Demi Moore, in "Now and Then." She can also be seen in 2005’s "Hostage" acting by her father’s side.
Barton’s most recent projects include a movie that’s currently shooting in Russia with pop stars t.A.T.u, which she said is about two girls who meet at a t.A.T.u. concert and fall in love.
