Minnie Driver has been awarded with the most wonderful prize
there is. It’s not an Emmy, nor is it an Academy Award. It’s Henry Story Driver
and he was born on Friday in Los
Angeles, according to the star’s representative.
Publicist Jessica Kolstad informed People magazine that the
little one was in fact a big one, as he weighed 9 pounds, 12 ounces.
Henry Story is the 38-year-old actress’ first child, but the
British celebrity would not disclose the identity of the baby’s father.
Minnie Driver confirmed the fact that she was pregnant
during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” in March, after host Jay Leno
noticed the size of her tummy was not exactly small: it was definitely a baby
bump.
Regarding her child’s unnamed father, Minnie Driver told
People in June: ‘He’s going to be a dad, so, yeah, he’s going to be there for
the kid.”
“I’m not getting married to this person, and I don’t know
what’s going to happen, but everyone is cool about the situation,” she added.
The well-known actress also talked about the passion she has
for babies and little kids: “Babies are endlessly fascinating to look at and
I’m obsessed about their complete and utter lack of guile. I’m looking forward
to seeing life through the eyes of my own kid.”
Minnie Driver has been formerly involved in romantic
relationships with Matt Damon, John Cusack and Josh Brolin and, although she
declined to reveal the name of her newborn’s dad, she said it was not Craig
Zolezzi, the San Francisco
musician many people suspected.
Minnie Driver first came to broad public attention when she
played the lead role in “Circle of Friends” and in 1997’s “Good Will Hunting,”
for which she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award. She is
currently starring with British comedian Eddie Izzard in cable channel FX’s
“The Riches.” She was nominated for the 2007 Emmy Award as Best Actress in a
Dramatic Series.
