Actress Minnie Driver gave birth on Friday to her first
child at the age of 38.
The child, a baby boy that she named Henry Story Driver, was
born in Los Angeles and surprised everybody, weighing 9 pounds, 12 ounces, the
actress’ rep, Jessica Kolstad, said.
Driver has not revealed the name of the baby’s father, but
she told People in June that the dad would certainly be involved in the baby’s
life.
“He’s going to be a dad so yeah he’s going to be there for
the kid. I’m not getting married to this person and I don’t know what’s
going to happen but everyone is cool about the situation,” she said earlier in
the summer.
During an interview with The Independent in U.K, while she
was promoting her second album, “Seastories,” Driver gave some vague clues
about her baby’s daddy: he’s English, he’s “sort of in the same business.” But
that’s pretty much all.
Driver, who has previously been in romantic relationships
with Matt Damon, John Cusack and Josh Brolin, and other celebrities, revealed
the news about her pregnancy during a Tonight Show appearance, when Jay Leno
noticed her curviness. She then said that she enjoyed pregnancy “more than
anything else.”
However, the Oscar- and Emmy-nominated British actress also
pointed out that pregnancy was not at all easy.
“I don't know why they call it morning sickness,” she told
Leno during the show. “I am sick morning, noon and night, but it's a fair
trade-off.”
But she has now escaped the hardships, and said she was
looking forward to spending a lot of time with her baby, most probably at the
seaside, as she loves the ocean.
