The British actress Minnie Driver
announced her pregnancy during the Tonight Show Thursday, but she refused to
tell the name of her baby’s father, when asked by Jay Leno, the show’s host. This
is the first pregnancy for the actress.
Minnie Driver broke the news
about her pregnancy after Leno asked her if she had been gaining weight.
“Are you calling me fat? You've
noticed my tummy, haven't you?” Driver challenged Leno, who did not hesitate to
ask her if she is expecting.
“Yes, I am,” she replied.
Dressed in a red dress, the
38-year-old actress did not hide her baby bump. She told Leno that despite the
mourning sickness, which occurs “morning, noon and night,” she is happy with
her pregnancy so far, People Magazine reports.
“I don’t know why they call it
morning sickness. I am sick morning, noon and night, but it’s a fair trade
off,” Driver joked.
Driver is currently working on
the TV show “The Riches,” where she portrays Dhalia Malloy, a traveling con
artist. The role brought her an Emmy nomination last year.
She has been romantically
involved with famous Hollywood actors such as
John Cusack, Criss Angel, and her partner in “Good Will Hunting,” Matt Damon. Driver
received an Oscar nomination for her role in the Guss van Sant’s movie.
She was engaged to Josh Brolin,
star of “No Country for Old Men” in 2001, but they broke up.
Minnie Driver also continues to
work on her music career. During the Tonight Show, Minnie Driver performed
“Mockingbird” from her album Seastories.
