The American country music artist, Mindy McCready, begins her sixty day sentence on Tuesday. She will spend the next two months behind the Williamson County Jail’s bars. This sentence is the result of a negotiated plea agreement for a probation violation.

The 32 year old star was arrested for prescription drug fraud in June. Her deed was considered to be a violation of her probation relating to a 2004 drug arrest that ended up with her losing her two year old son’s custody. McCready was previously jailed in 2007 after falsifying her community service records of the same 2004 drug arrest. Back in 2004, however, the singer posted a $5,000 bond and was released two hours after she was arrested.

But it seemed that this time she wanted to make things right and even entered rehab on July 16, 2008.
McCready said in a statement Monday morning: "I have been working very hard to put all this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to doing what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain."

She also added that she's currently working to regain custody of her young son, Zander and that she appreciates her fans’ moral support.

Her debut album, Ten Thousand Angels, was released in 1996 and sold two million copies. The album also produced her two biggest hits: "Ten Thousand Angels" and "Guys Do It All The Time."

But besides her son, her present revolves around her working on a documentary, a new album and a reality show. It seems that the current sentence may succeed in putting her plans on hold.
