During her appearance on Thursday’s "Ellen DeGeneres Show," Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, addressed the scalpers responsible for selling tickets to her show for huge amounts of money, saying the solution they came up with is adding more seats.
Asked about how they’re dealing with the issue of scalpers getting their hands on the tickets, Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, said he finds the whole situation really sad, with Miley "putting all this into it, wanting to make as many families and kids happy."
"We made (VIP sections) smaller, so the kids that wouldn't necessarily have had the chance to come, they can get in, but not for a fortune," Miley told Ellen. "It's going to be a good show, but I don't think it's worth what it's going for. For the people that do get to come, I'm going to make it the best show ever," she added.
As previously reported, tickets for Miley’s 54-date "Best of Both Worlds Tour," which kicks off on October 18, sold out like crazy in matter of minutes sparking controversy among parents, who failed to purchase tickets for their kids, who are excited fans of the preteen singer.
With bookers and scalpers using hi-tech software and speed dialers to buy as many tickets as possible before anyone else gets to, people were still able to get tickets online at way higher prices.
"I have a Black Card from American Express through my husband's work – they can get you anything – I called and they said, 'the closest we have is $1,500,' " Tracy Kurtz of Yorba Linda, who has three Hannah Montana fanatics for daughters, said.
As a result to all the angry parents out there who filed complaints regarding the issue, officials in several U.S. states promised to conduct a fast investigation into the online ticket sales.
