Miley Cyrus Gets Another Sweet Sixteen Celebration At The AMAs

Sunday was a big day for teen favorite Miley Cyrus, who officially turned 16 on November 23, the same day she attended and performed at the 2008 American Music Awards.

The "Hannah Montana" actress was the center of attention both on stage where she performed a seductive version of her single "Fly on the Wall" and backstage where a bunch of her friends together with the teen's mom gathered to throw her a mini surprise birthday party.

Miley was presented with a huge birthday cake from her parents, Trish and Billy Ray Cyrus, as well as pals Jordin Sparks, Julianne Hough and "High School Musical" actress Ashley Tisdale, who sang her "Happy Birthday."

"All the girls, we decided we were going to say 'Happy Birthday' to Miley backstage," Swift was quoted by Usmagazine.com as saying.

"I thought she nailed it tonight," Swift added referring to Miley's performance, "Oh my gosh, it was amazing ... I think she completely owned it!"

Another thing that called for a celebration on Sunday was Miley's latest big screen effort, Walt Disney's 3-D animated "Bolt," which made $27 million at the box office placing third.

The cake wasn't the only present Miley got, she can now work whenever she wants in her own home recording studio she got from her father.

"No, she didn’t want a Mercedes, she wanted a recording studio," Billy Ray told Access Hollywood. "She just wanted a place to record there at the house. She’s been writing a lot of songs a lot of really great material."

Miley celebrated her birthday early in October with a special bash at Disneyland complete with fireworks set to the dual-personality star’s hit "The Best of Both Worlds." More than 5,000 people, who paid $250 for a ticket, joined the singer-actress as she performed a short concert, including a duet with her father.

"This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!" Miley said as she took the stage for her performance. She also shared the spotlight during the private party with some deserving young people from Youth Service America who made a difference in their communities.

Celebrities who turned up for the event included David Archuleta, Steve Carell, Cindy Crawford, Jennie Garth and Jennifer Love Hewitt, along with "Hannah Montana" co-stars Cody Linley and Emily Osment and Tyra Banks. Miley’ new boyfriend, model and singer Justin Gaston also attended and performed with Billy Ray Cyrus, and Miley’s older sister Brandi singing "Achy Breaky Heart."
