Miley Cyrus Channels Inner Memoirist

Miley Cyrus has signed an impressive seven-figure book-deal with Disney to share with the world the experience of ascending to stardom.

The 15-year-old pop sensation that has taken the world by storm with her talent and charisma has accomplished much and evidently has more to add to her vast collection of trophies.

Miley signed a seven-figure book deal with Disney Book Group, her publisher announced Tuesday, to write about growing up in Tennessee (as the daughter of “Achy, Breaky Heart” country singer Billy Ray Cyrus), moving to Los Angeles and ultimately becoming an international star. Miley will also reveal how her family, especially mother Leticia, helps her deal with success.

Disney appears confident that the teenager’s book will be enthusiastically welcomed by fans from across the world - the autobiography, published via the Disney-Hyperion Books imprint, will have an initial print run of one million copies. Publication is scheduled in spring 2009, to coincide with the premiere of the Hannah Montana feature movie.

According to Disney, admirers will revel in Miley’s honest confessions as well as never-before-seen photos, family stories and a look at the young singer’s “inner circle of loved ones.”

Jeanne Mosure, global publisher of Disney Book Group, noted that among the most striking aspects of Miley’s upcoming autobiography is her willingness to talk about her family.

“It’s rare that you hear from someone her age that they want to talk about their family,” Mosure said. “How she sees her family in light of everything that she’s exposed to on a daily basis is pretty incredible.”

Miley Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus, was catapulted to international fame in 2006 when the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” debuted. She portrays Miley Stewart, a high school student who leads a double life as Hannah Montana, pop sensation. Dad Cyrus plays her on-screen father.

The bubbly adolescent took success from the TV screen to concert locales across North America, with her Best of Both Worlds Tour, a hugely successful project which saw tickets sold out in record time for each and every show, and the big screen.

A concert film based on her tour, “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert,” was released by Walt Disney Pictures on February 1, originally for one week. The 3D movie was such a box office success that the company extended its release.

“I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me,” Miley said in a statement. “I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together, and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams.”

While cynics cannot help but remember Britney Spears’ “Heart to Heart” memoir with mom Lynne Spears and the subsequent disaster, perhaps Miley really is as balanced as she appears to be.
