Miley Cyrus, 15, to Write Autobiography

Miley Cyrus is only 15, she has been doing a good job at conquering the world and she intends to write a nice book about her journey to stardom, with the stamped approval of Disney.

Pop sensation Miley Cyrus has signed a seven-figure book deal with Disney Book Group, her publisher announced Tuesday.

The teenage singer/actress will write about growing up in Tennessee, moving to Los Angeles and ultimately becoming an international star. Miley will also reveal how her family, especially mother Leticia, helps her deal with success.

Miley Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus, is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who first gained widespread attention in the early 1990s with the single “Achy, Breaky Heart.”

Daughter and father were catapulted to planetary fame when the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” debuted in 2006. She portrays Miley Stewart, a high school student who leads a double life as Hannah Montana, pop sensation.

Miley traveled throughout North America from October 2007 to January 2008, playing dozens of shows in her Best of Both Worlds Tour, a hugely successful project which saw tickets sold out in record time for each and every show.

A concert film based on her tour, “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert,” was released by Walt Disney Pictures on February 1, originally for one week. The 3D movie was such a box office success that the company extended its release.

Disney expects Miley’s memoir to be welcomed with similar passionate demand. The book will have an initial print run of one million copies. Publication, via the Disney-Hyperion Books imprint, is scheduled in spring 2009, to coincide with the premiere of the Hannah Montana feature movie.

According to Disney, the book will feature never-before-seen photos, family stories and a look at Miley’s inner circle.

“I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me,” the 15-year-old said. “I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together, and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams.”

Jeanne Mosure, global publisher of Disney Book Group, noted that among the most striking aspects of Miley’s upcoming autobiography is her willingness to talk about her family.

“It’s rare that you hear from someone her age that they want to talk about their family,” Mosure said. “How she sees her family in light of everything that she’s exposed to on a daily basis is pretty incredible.”
