Microsoft to Launch Notebook Cooling Base

Microsoft Hardware Group entered the market of notebook coolers, thus expanding its tentacles deeper in PC peripherals. The announcement was made by Microsoft Tuesday morning.

Microsoft’s Notebook Cooling Base will hit the shelves sometime in July and will sell for the price of $29.95, the software giant said. The device is a 1.16-inch-thick elevated stand with a built-in fan and it’s made to sit on users’ laps or on their desks. It comes in white or black, you plug it in your PC via USB port and cools down your machine. The Notebook Cooling Base is slated ergonomically in order to make typing easier and also comes with a cable management clip.

The Notebook Cooling Base really represents a new direction for Microsoft's hardware unit which so far focused only on mice and keyboards.

Microsoft Hardware Group also announced that its Arc Mouse will come in new colors from now on. The $50 mouse will also come in frost white, eggplant purple, deep olive green, and marine blue. Until now there were only available red and black Arc Mice.

And another piece of novelty from Microsoft: the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 will also be available in a limited-edition series of colors: blue sapphire, red garnet, pink topaz, green emerald and purple amethyst. The Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 will be available for purchase at the price of $29.95.
