Microsoft Launches New Mices and Webcams

If you are a mobile user and you need a real good mouse while working on your notebook, maybe you should consider Microsoft’s latest offer: Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, the first rechargeable mouse with 1 GB of flash memory built right into the transceiver.

"With the continued rise in notebook sales, there is a huge demand for smart peripherals that help mobile users get their work done more efficiently, and the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 combines three key tools into one stylish device," said Matt Barlow, worldwide director of marketing and partner development at Microsoft Hardware. "Over the past 25 years Microsoft Hardware has consistently raised the bar of innovation, and adding a gigabyte of memory to the mouse transceiver is truly a computing milestone. We've packed more memory into the transceiver than an entire computer had 25 years ago."

While the memory included in the mouse is surely a great way to rapidly store your files, the charging system used by the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 is also innovative.

The charging cord connects at one end to the underside of the mouse, and the other to the tip of the transceiver which means that the mouse can be charge while you are working.

According to Microsoft, the included AAA rechargeable battery also offers more than three weeks of battery power on a full charge.

The Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 features advanced wireless technology that allows notebook users to choose how they want to connect -- with 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth. A switch on the bottom of the mouse enables Bluetooth notebook users to connect directly to their laptop without using the included transceiver.

If you already decided to use Windows Vista instead of Windows XP on your notebook the Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 offers access to the popular Windows Flip 3D feature right from the mouse. With the press of a button, users can flip through open windows in a stack, and quickly switch between applications for added productivity. The mouse also features proprietary High Definition Laser Technology, a Tilt Wheel and two side buttons (Magnifier and Back).

The Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 will hit the store shelves in October and it will cost $99.95.

In addition to Mobile Memory Mouse 8000, Microsoft announced other two mice especially designed for notebooks the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and the Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000.

As Microsoft estimated that more than 54 percent of all notebooks shipping worldwide in 2008 are expected to be Bluetooth enabled Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000, which offers High Definition Laser Technology, might be an ideal choice.

The Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000’s shape is based on the No. 1 best-selling mouse, the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000, and the device also features instant access to the Windows Vista Flip 3D and a Magnifier tool and Back button.

The Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 will be available in September 2007 and the Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 in October 2007 — each for an estimated retail price of $49.95 (U.S.).

For easier communication Microsoft Hardware announced two webcams LifeCam NX-3000 and VX-7000, which both are integrated with Windows Live Messenger.

The NX-3000 offers 1.3 megapixel, while VX-7000 has a higher resolution of 2 megapixel. Also the viewing angle on the VX is also larger and it features an option called "Auto-Adjustment for Low Light Conditions". The price of VX-7000 will be available for $99.95, while the price of NX-3000 is $59.95
