Microsoft’s endorsement deal with famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld has already come to an end. The Seinfeld-Bill Gates commercials have been just a short phase of Microsoft’s new advertising campaign for Windows, the company said.
Microsoft said that the teaser adds with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates were actually meant just as a short phase. The new series of ads will begin airing on TV tonight and will reportedly go head to head with Apple’s "I'm a Mac."
The new phase of the add campaign is called “I’m a PC” and features cameo roles from writer Deepak Chopra, actress Eva Longoria, singer Pharrell Williams and also one of Microsoft’s software engineer named Sean.
In the new ads, Sean is dressed just like the actor who plays the PC in Apple’s ads (John Hodgman). In the new ads, Sean gets right down to business:
"Hi, I'm a PC. And I've been turned into a stereotype."
Microsoft’s new and fresh ad campaigns called "Life without walls" will reportedly focus on "tearing down the walls," and celebrating “the diversity and passion of consumers around the world who use Windows to stay in touch with the people, information and ideas that they care about."
When Microsoft made public its deal with Seinfeld as part of a $300 million ad campaign with the main purpose of turning around Windows Vista’s image in the eyes of potential customers, many of them were scratching their heads. If Microsoft wanted to give its product a young and in vogue tone, then it didn’t seem quite right to hire an older and retired comic (no offense Jerry).
